Sonya
Cox
With over 35 years of experience in cybersecurity, Sonya has developed a strong expertise in federal and commercial global cybersecurity operations, intelligence analysis, crisis action planning, risk management and policy and program management.
Prior to establishing the Oakum Group, Sonya served as the senior manager of the cyber threat intelligence center at Stryker, a fortune 500 provider of medical devices and clinical communication solutions, where she supported the security posture and compliance of the company's products and services. Sonya has a distinguished military background, having retired as a Naval Commander after 30 years of service, including several overseas assignments, at sea and NATO. She holds the prestigious certifications of CISSP, CISM, and CompTIA Security+, and completed a Master's of Science in Information Management. Her mission is to protect and enhance the security and resilience of federal and industry critical assets and information, and to contribute to the advancement of the cybersecurity field.
Mike
Dunfee
Mike capped a successful 18 year career in the VA as the SES Medical Center Director at the Hampton VA in Virginia. During his VA career he also held positions in VA Central Office in DC, at the Regional/VISN level, and at several VA Medical Centers in leadership and staff roles. Throughout his career in VA he worked to engage staff and continuously improve the experience and healthcare outcomes for Veterans. He has tremendous respect for the mission of the VA and the work that his prior colleagues do every day to improve the lives of Veterans.
Prior to establishing the Oakum Group, Mike has been fortunate to be able to continue supporting the VA as a vendor since concluding his time in government service, and has consulted with a wide range of large and small businesses both helping them to improve internal business operations and serving as a health care operations SME on numerous contracts.
